Tote Ten to Follow Stables set for reshuffle as transfer window opens

Wednesday 26th February, 2020

With the Tote Ten to Follow season in full swing players now have a chance to refresh their stables in the hope of being in with a chance to win £250,000 worth of prizes.

The “transfer window” will be open between 8am on Monday 2nd March and 5pm on Monday 9th March. During this period players can transfer up to two horses in their stables ready for the spring racing festivals.

In what has been an action-packed National Hunt season, several of the most popular horses are now not due to run again until next season including Buveur D'Air, Cyrname, Klassical Dream and Native River. Some lesser picked horses now look to have been wise choices, including Cheltenham Supreme Novices’ Hurdle Favourite Shiskin who is currently in fewer than 200 stables and Cheltenham Champion Hurdle Favourite Epatante who is in less than 1% of stables. Tiger Roll is currently in 7% of stables but could be a very popular choice as he once again heads to Aintree in April.

It is all to play in for with less than 50 points covering the top 30 stables. With so much good racing to enjoy before the season finale at Sandown Park on Saturday 25th April it looks set to be a super competitive first season back for Tote Ten to Follow.

There have been two monthly winners to date with Robert Lynch from Kilmarnock and Nathan Doherty from Leicester each winning £10,000. A long-time Tote Ten to Follow fan, Mr Lynch said: “I think it is a great competition. For a £5 entry you get six months of entertainment, so I thoroughly enjoy it and I’m delighted it has returned.”

In the Celebrity League where players are in with a chance to win £10,000 for a charity of their choice, Davy Russell currently has a very narrow lead over Racing TV’s Tom Stanley with his colleagues Nick Luck, Oli Bell and Lydia Hislop not far behind in fifth, sixth and tenth respectively. Paul Nicholls is sat in third place only 15 points off the lead with his assistant Harry Derham not too far behind in seventh.

Following on from the successful return of Tote Ten to Follow, the Tote has launched its new website – tote.co.uk. The website will continue to undergo development and improvements with extra features being added. Any new customers signing up to tote.co.uk will receive a £10 risk free first bet and feedback on the customer experience is very welcome. This can be done by emailing feedback@tote.co.uk.

Alongside this development, the Tote has launched the new “Tote Guarantee” which ensures the Tote will always match the industry Starting Price (SP) or pay the pool price if the latter is bigger than the SP on all Win bets placed on tote.co.uk. This means customers will always receive the SP or better when placing successful Win bets with the Tote on tote.co.uk.  Tote Guarantee has also been trialled on racecourses throughout February.

Mark Kemp, UK Tote Group Managing Director, said: “We have been delighted with the positive response to the return of Tote Ten to Follow with over 63,000 stables entered for the first season. This is a really accessible and fun way for racing fans to follow their favourite horses throughout the National Hunt season. We hope players will take this chance to refresh their stables as we all look forward to the fantastic spring racing festivals.”
